---|---|
Mothra is an aerostructure with adaptive wings. Mothra's wings are capable of changing shape, imparting forces or generating moments to achieve some sort of structural excitation, stabilization and control.
They consist of an element made of two sheets of piezoceramic, of opposite polarity, with a thin brass substrate in between. When a current of a given polarity stimulates the element, one sheet expands, the other contracts, and the element bends. |
